South Shore Park, the busier of the two Lake Bastrop parks, offers a variety of outdoor activities. The 900-acre lake contains bass, crappie, perch and catfish. Anglers can drop a line from the park's fishing pier or head out on a boat from the park's ramp. Park guests have the use of a sand volleyball court, trails, swimming area, washer pits, and horseshoe pits.
