Join us for the great adventure race of Lockhart State Park!

Participants will race around the park, stopping at 6 different sites where their agility and intellect will be put to the test!  Race activities will include setting up a tent, matching skulls and furs with local animals, building CCC-inspired puzzles, speed golfing, and more. The team with the fastest time wins a gift package donated by Kammok, and the second place finishers win gift cards donated by Academy. Think you’re up for the challenge?  Rules:

First place prize is a 2-person hammock, a pair of 10' straps, a reusable tote, a post card, and sticker donated by Kammock.

• Teams can be made up of 2-5 individuals. All ages and abilities are welcome, but each team must include one adult (18+ years old).
• Teams must register here, as space is limited.
• Teams must meet us at the park Recreation Hall by 2pm on Saturday, Nov 9th. We will host a big group orientation for all teams together and provide each team with a map of the challenges. All teams will start the race at the same time.
• Teams will walk/run to each challenge area, successfully perform the activity, and snap a photo as proof that the challenge was completed. The team that can complete all 6 challenges and make it back to the Rec Hall first will be the winner. Prizes will be given for 1st and 2nd place.
• Teams CANNOT use cars, bikes, scooters, or transportation aids of any kind. Teams may NOT go off-trail, leave trash or litter, disrupt park wildlife, or cheat in any way. Any teams found breaking these rules will be disqualified.

Prepare: Dress for your level of physical activity, and apply sunscreen and/or bug repellent as needed. Layers and athletic shoes are recommended. Be prepared to walk/run approximately 1.5 miles between challenges. Bring water and your cell phone to take “proof” photos at each challenge. This event is rain or shine. If it rains, please be aware that there may be muddy and/or rugged areas on the course.

Meet: The race will start and finish at our park Recreation hall. Please arrive a few minutes early to give yourself time to check into the park and drive up to our Rec Hall before start time.

Fees: This event is FREE with paid entry to the park. Regular park entrance fees are $3/adult, free for children 12 & under.
