Birding is about more than just identification, it’s about discovering the secrets of a bird’s habitat.

Interested in birding? Join the Texas Master Naturalists to learn the birding basics, discover behaviors and habitats, and go for a birding hike!

  • Meet: Outside of HQ
  • Bring: Hats, water, sunscreen. Bring binoculars and field guides if you have them- otherwise we have a few you can borrow!
  • The first hour of the program will take place in/around the Butterfly Garden. The second hour you may join us for an optional birding hike on an easy trail.
  • Fees: Free with park admission. Park entrance fees are $6 per adult (13 years of age and older), free for children under 13.
  • Note: Birds, Bugs, and Botany is subject to cancellation due to weather conditions. Be sure to check the weather before heading out here!
