Nature classes at the Colorado River Refuge are back! On the third Thursday of the month this spring we will meet at the outdoor classroom at the Lost Pines Nature Trails and discuss topics on nature! These classes are best suited for students 5-11 but all are welcome. We ask that all students come with an adult and sign up.
In March we will be learning about the Amazing Monarch- Come learn about the life cycle of the Monarch Butterfly from the egg all the way to the butterfly. Citizen science plays an important role in helping with conservation of this beautiful butterfly so we will discuss ways you can get involved.
In April we will be learning about Texas Wildflowers, we all love wildflowers and now we have a chance to learn more about them! We will learn about the parts of a flower, their special Texas spirit, go on a hike, and make seed balls!
The Colorado River is mighty and alive! In May we will explore the river's edge and discuss the fun and unique differences between the river, the riparian area, and the upland.
As always we will have a classroom portion with fun activity and a hike! Please sign up below and further details will be sent to those who sign up.
