Visit the 232-acre Wild Basin Preserve, one of Austin's oldest inner city natural areas. Wild Basin is a tranquil oasis in a rapidly urbanizing area and offers beautiful creeks, small waterfalls, and is home to the endangered golden-cheeked warbler.

Just a short 15 minute trip from downtown Austin, the preserve was established largely through the intense efforts of a group of dedicated neighbors who recognized the educational and biological value in the area's steep canyons and wooded hillsides. Experience the scenic beauty of the area as you hike the three miles of easy access trails under the shade of juniper and oak trees.

Wild Basin also hosts a variety of family events, concerts, adult workshops, children's and school programs.

Pets, picnics and bicycles are not permitted at the preserve.
