The Great Backyard Bird Count is an opportunity for citizens to become scientists by helping Audubon and Texas Parks and Wildlife track bird species.  Guided bird counts and walks will happen throughout the morning and early afternoon starting from our Wildlife Viewing Station.  Participants will have a chance to record their species sightings and have them entered into the Audubon database by park staff.  There will also be information and experts on hand throughout the morning to teach you bird identification and how to attract birds to your backyard.  Children’s activities and a children’s bird walk start at 2:00 PM.
