We're Back with a Star Party. Come join Enchanted Rock Staff and members of the Hill Country Astronomers for a night of Stargazing.

Hill Country Astronomers and Enchanted Rock State natural Area will be hosting another Star Party at the park.  If you would like to view the sun through a solar viewer before it sets in the evening, get here around 5:30 pm.  If you are coming out for the Star party, you will need to arrive before 7::00 pm as we will begin restricting parking to areas further away from the telescopes.  If you have a flashlight with "red light' capabilities, we suggest using them, as white light flashlights can ruin your night vision.  (The astronomers will THANK YOU.)  As always with theses events, Less light is better!  We are an International Dark Sky Park and we pride ourselves in the darkness and the night sky above Enchanted Rock. 

While it has stopped raining and it has dried up since 2015, PLEASE check our FACEBOOK and TWITTER pages for any updates on the event.  It has been an interesting year for weather and it can change in an instant.

What to Bring:  Water, a chair, and a snack.  There will be plenty of scopes for the public to view from but these events are always BYOT (Bring your own telescope) if you would like to share and meet some other astronomers of young and old.

Where:  The cul-de-sac near the Summit Trail

Cost:  $7 per person age 13 and over.  Free for 12 and Under or with a Texas State Parks Pass.

No reservation is required

** You will need to bring cash or a check to use at the Self-Pay station at the headquarters as our office may be closed depending on the time of your arrival.
