Learn to share conservation with children: Professional Development for anyone who works with children
Aquatic WILD invites you to explore and share the fascinating world of aquatic wildlife and ecosystems using fun, hands-on educational activities. You will experience engaging TEKS-aligned activities while networking with other educators.
Anyone who works with children, including teachers, homeschoolers, informal educators, and scout leaders is welcome.
Workshop participants receive:
- TEA-approved CPE and TEEAC Credit
- Aquatic WILD K-12 guide
- Texas-specific resources
- Guided Canyon tour to Westcave's Grotto
- Light snacks
Canyon Tour Details: The guided hike is about 1 mile round trip and takes about 1.5 hrs. There is a 125 uneven step staircase built into the natural slope of the canyon landscape. This staircase is the only way to enter and exit the canyon, grotto and cave area. Once in the canyon there are some additional steps, rocks and roots to navigate along the trail next to our creek. Some areas have a cable railing to help with balance. You are encouraged to bring a camera, water bottle, and your own hiking poles/sticks if you question your stability, .

- $15 site fee collected at the door
Registration fee is for WILD training. WILD materials are distributed only with requisite hours of training. Attendance and participation in the entire workshop are required to receive any of the materials, regardless of fee payment.
